1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BuildRace.io (the "Service"), operated by BuildRace Labs ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. User Accounts

2.1 Account Types

• Developer Accounts: Free accounts for individual developers to participate in races
• Company Accounts: Paid accounts for organizations to post races and hire developers

2.2 Account Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
• One person may not maintain multiple developer accounts

3. Races and Prizes

3.1 Race Participation

• Developers may submit only one solution per race
• All code must be original work created during the race period
• Use of AI tools is permitted unless explicitly prohibited
• Submissions must meet all stated requirements

3.2 Prize Distribution

• Prizes are awarded based on automated scoring and company review
• Winners must provide tax documentation (W-9/W-8BEN)
• Prizes are distributed within 30 days of race completion
• BuildRace Labs is not responsible for tax obligations

4. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Submit plagiarized or stolen code
• Manipulate race results or scoring
• Harass or abuse other users
• Post false or misleading information
• Attempt to breach platform security
• Use the Service for illegal activities
• Scrape or collect user data without permission

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of code you submit, but grant us a license to display and evaluate it for race purposes. Companies receive a license to review submissions for hiring decisions.

5.2 Our Content

The BuildRace platform, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by BuildRace Labs and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILDRACE LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
